Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and CV10X ("CV10X," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our Services.
CV10X is based in Safi, Morocco, and operates globally.
Eligibility
To use our Services, you must:
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
- Not be prohibited from using the Services under applicable law
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
Account Registration and Security
Account Creation
You must create an account using OAuth authentication through one of the following third-party services:
We do not support traditional email/password registration. All authentication is handled securely through OAuth 2.0 protocols.
When you register via OAuth, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Basic profile information from the OAuth provider
Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your OAuth-connected accounts (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook)
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
- Ensuring your OAuth provider account credentials remain secure
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your OAuth account credentials or unauthorized access to your third-party authentication accounts.
Account Sharing
Account sharing is strictly prohibited. Each account is for individual use only.
Description of Services
BuddyCV provides AI-powered tools and services including:
- Resume Builder: Create, edit, and format professional resumes
- Cover Letter Generator: Generate customized cover letters
- ATS Optimization: Analyze and optimize documents for Applicant Tracking Systems
- Job Description Analyzer: Match resumes to job requirements
- Document Management: Store, organize, and manage multiple document versions on AWS
- PDF Export: Download documents in professional PDF format
- Publishing Tools: Share resumes via secure links or public profiles
AI Content Generation
Our Services use AI Third-Party providers to generate and optimize resume and cover letter content. By using our AI features, you acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content is provided as suggestions and recommendations
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content
- AI-generated content may not be entirely unique
- Similar content may be generated for other users
Service Modifications
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services
- Change features, functionality, or availability
- Update pricing and subscription plans
- Change AI providers or technologies
We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when possible.
Free Access
Free Access Terms
We offer free access with usage limits that may vary by plan.
Important Free Access Notes:
- Free access availability and usage limits are subject to change at our discretion
- No credit card is required to start with free access
- Some advanced features may require a paid subscription
Account Deletion Scheduling
For all users (free and subscribed), account deletion follows the same process:
- You can request deletion from your account settings at any time
- Deletion is scheduled for 30 days after your request
- During the 30-day window, you can restore your account by canceling the deletion request
- After 30 days, account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed
Subscription Plans and Payment
Subscription Tiers
We offer various subscription plans:
- Free Plan: Access with feature and usage limits
- Premium Plans: Full feature access with various billing cycles

Billing and Payment
- Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Paddle, our third-party payment processor
- Billing Cycles: Monthly, quarterly, or annual (as selected)
- Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled
- Payment Methods: Credit/debit cards or other payment methods accepted by Paddle
- Currency: Prices displayed in USD or local currency where applicable
Paddle Payment Terms:
- Paddle is our merchant of record and handles all payment processing
- Your payment information is stored and processed by Paddle, not by CV10X
- Paddle's terms and conditions apply to all payment transactions
- You can manage your billing information through the Paddle billing portal
Refund Policy
- Refund window: 14 days from the original payment date.
- Refund processing follows Paddle's buyer refund policy.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Price changes will:
- Not affect your current subscription period
- Take effect at your next renewal
- Be communicated at least 30 days in advance
User Obligations and Conduct
Acceptable Use
You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You will NOT:
Prohibited Activities:
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use the Services to spam, harass, or harm others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without written permission
- Introduce viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
- Use the Services for competitive analysis or benchmarking
- Abuse the free access system by creating multiple accounts
- Use IP masking or proxy services to circumvent fraud detection
- Share account credentials with others
Content Restrictions:
You will not upload or create content that:
- Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or offensive
- Infringes intellectual property rights
- Contains personal information of others without consent
- Promotes violence, discrimination, or hate speech
- Contains malicious code or links
Professional Use
Our Services are intended for professional resume and cover letter creation. You are responsible for:
- Ensuring the accuracy of information in your documents
- Verifying that your content does not infringe third-party rights
- Using AI-generated content responsibly and ethically
- Reviewing and editing all AI-generated content before use
- Complying with employment laws and regulations

Intellectual Property Rights
Our Intellectual Property
All aspects of the Services, including but not limited to:
- Software, code, and algorithms
- Design, graphics, and user interface
- Logos, trademarks, and branding
- Templates, layouts, and formatting
- Content, text, and documentation
...are owned by BuddyCV or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our software
- Distribute, sell, or license our intellectual property
- Use our trademarks without written permission
- Frame or mirror any portion of the Services
- Extract or attempt to extract our AI prompts or algorithms
Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or input into the Services ("User Content"), including:
- Resume information and work history
- Cover letters and personal statements
- Uploaded documents and files
License Grant to Us:
By using our Services, you grant BuddyCV a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Use, store, and process your User Content to provide the Services
- Process your content through AI for content generation and optimization
- Store your documents and data on AWS infrastructure
- Create temporary copies for operational purposes
This license terminates when you delete your content or account.
Important: We do not maintain backups of permanently deleted account data.
AI-Generated Content
Content generated by AI Third-Party (Claude,Gemini, or OpenAI's ChatGPT) is provided to you under a non-exclusive license. You may:
- Use AI-generated content for your personal job search
- Modify and adapt the content as needed
- Include it in your resume and cover letters
However, you acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content may not be entirely original or unique
- Similar content may be generated for other users
- You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content
Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
By using our Services, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
Key Points:
- We do not sell your personal information
- Your resume data is encrypted and stored securely on AWS
- All documents are encrypted at rest
- We use OAuth authentication (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook) for secure access
- We collect IP addresses for fraud prevention and security purposes
- We track your last login for security monitoring
- We use cookies for essential functionality
- You have rights to access, modify, and delete your data
- We comply with GDPR, CCPA, Moroccan Law 09-08, and other privacy regulations

Account Deletion and Termination
Account Deletion by You
For all users (free and subscribed):
- You may request account deletion at any time from account settings
- Your account enters a 30-day pending deletion period
- During this period, you may restore your account by canceling the deletion request
- After 30 days, your personal data, documents, and account content are permanently deleted
- Your Paddle subscription is canceled as part of the permanent deletion workflow
- Paddle may retain transaction records for legal and tax obligations
- Permanent deletion is irreversible and backups of deleted data are not maintained
Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- You abuse the free access system (multiple accounts, fraud attempts)
- We detect suspicious IP address activity
- Your account poses a security risk
- You fail to pay subscription fees
- Your account is inactive for more than 24 months
- We are required to do so by law
- We discontinue the Services
We will provide notice when possible, except in cases of:
- Serious violations or illegal activity
- Security threats
- Fraud or abuse
- Legal requirements
Effect of Termination
Upon termination by us or you:
- All licenses granted to you will immediately cease
- You must stop using the Services
- All your data will be permanently deleted based on the account deletion process described in these Terms
- Your Paddle subscription will be canceled
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect (including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution)
No Backups: We do not maintain backups of permanently deleted accounts. Once deletion is completed, your data cannot be recovered.
Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
"AS IS" Disclaimer
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
- Warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content
- Warranties that AI-generated content will meet your requirements
- Warranties regarding OAuth authentication services provided by Google, LinkedIn, or Facebook
- Warranties regarding payment processing by Paddle
- Warranties regarding data storage on AWS
We do not guarantee:
- That the Services will help you get a job or interview
- That ATS optimization will result in your resume being selected
- That AI-generated content is error-free, unique, or plagiarism-free
- That third-party integrations (OAuth, Paddle, AWS, AI Third-Party Providers) will always be available
- That your documents will be compatible with all ATS systems
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUDDYCV AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Indirect Damages:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Loss of goodwill or reputation
- Cost of substitute services
- Damages arising from third-party service failures (OAuth providers, Paddle, AWS, AI Third-Party Providers)
Third-Party Services:
We are not liable for any issues, failures, or damages arising from:
- OAuth authentication services (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook)
- Payment processing by Paddle
- Data storage or transmission via AWS
- AI content generation by Third-Party Providers
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BuddyCV and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Services
- Your User Content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your violation of applicable laws
- Your abuse of the free access system
- Your fraudulent activity or misuse of the Services
Miscellaneous Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and BuddyCV regarding the Services.
Amendments
We may modify these Terms at any time by:
- Posting the updated Terms on our website
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Notifying you via email (for material changes)
Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- War, terrorism, or civil unrest
- Internet or telecommunications failures
- Third-party service provider failures (AWS, Paddle, AI Third-Party Providers, OAuth providers)
- Government actions or legal restrictions
- Labor disputes

All notices to you will be sent to the email address associated with your OAuth account or posted on our website.

Third-Party Beneficiaries
These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights except as expressly stated.
Third-Party Services
You acknowledge that our Services depend on third-party providers:
- OAuth Providers (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook): For authentication
- Paddle: For payment processing
- AWS: For data storage and hosting
- Claude AI, Gemini, or OpenAI's ChatGPT: For AI content generation
- Survey and feedback tools: For collecting user feedback
We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of these third-party services. Your use of these services may be subject to their respective terms and conditions.
Relationship of Parties
These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and BuddyCV.
Language
These Terms are provided in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.
Export Controls
You agree to comply with all applicable export and import control laws and regulations in your use of the Services.

Specific Service Terms
OAuth Authentication
By using OAuth authentication, you agree to:
- Comply with the terms of service of your OAuth provider (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook)
- Keep your OAuth account credentials secure
- Understand that we access only basic profile information (name, email, profile picture)
- Accept that we are not responsible for OAuth provider service interruptions
Paddle Payment Terms
By subscribing to paid plans, you agree to:
- Paddle's terms and conditions as our merchant of record
- Allow Paddle to process and store your payment information
- Receive billing communications from Paddle
- Manage your subscription through Paddle's billing portal
AWS Data Storage
Your documents and data are stored on AWS infrastructure. You acknowledge that:
- All data is encrypted at rest and in transit
- AWS's terms of service and acceptable use policies apply
- We use AWS's security features to protect your data
- AWS may process your data in various global regions
Acknowledgment
BY USING OUR SERVICES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS OF USE, UNDERSTAND THEM, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.
You further acknowledge that:
- You understand account deletion is scheduled with a 30-day restoration window for all users
- You understand that account deletion becomes irreversible after the 30-day period
- You understand that we do not maintain backups of deleted data
- You understand that payment processing is handled by Paddle
- You understand that authentication is handled via OAuth only
- You understand that AI content generation uses Claude AI,Gemini, or OpenAI ChatGPT
- You understand that your data is stored on AWS
- You understand that we collect IP addresses for fraud prevention and security
